Bostumous!

Bostumous is a word of interesting provenance.  It seems that Jed’s (I’ve changed Harry’s name to Jed to protect his innocent family in St. Paul, Minnesota) uncle Moishe used to practice law.  Moishe never let the truth get in the way of a good story; if his brain couldn’t come up with proper legal precedent, his mouth would take care of it for him.  The signal event for our purposes occurred in court one day in 1873, when Moishe said “I object, that’s bostumous!”  “Sustained,” said the judge, and so it was that “bostumous” became part of Stone family lore, used to signify anything out of order, and to do so in an original and off-kilter way.
